Each player is entitled to take 1 mulligan per round for a $5 fee. Both players from the same team cannot take a mulligan on the same whole.
When a birdie or eagle is scored by player on a team, $1 and $3 are owed respectively by each of the players of the opposing team.
This season will be played in two separate sections. The first section will be played as modified match play for the regular season. The top 3 teams will earn a small monetary reward. This value will be determined at a later date. The second portion will be played as a single elimination playoff with the two remaining teams playing in a final 18 hole round for the championship!
No golf week of July 4th.
Handicaps are carried from the previous year. New players start with a 14 unless they have subbed in previous seasons and have an established handicap. Handicaps will be calculated using a modified GHIN formula where the handicap will be the average of the best 5 of the last 10 rounds. This will reduce large swings in handicaps from week to week.
This year we will be playing a modified match play style. Please play each hole as usual by keeping your score. At the end of the round, the winner of each hole (handicap adjusted) will be awarded a point and the low net score of the team will be awarded an additional point.
Points are determined by LOW HANDICAP vs LOW HANDICAP, HIGH HANDICAP vs HIGH HANDICAP. Team point is LOW NET TOTAL for a possible 19 total points.
When a competing team does not show the team that is present is automatically awarded the team 1 point for coming. Each player will need to play within 5 strokes of their handicap to earn their individual 9 points. We're relying on the honor system for this!
For players that need to leave early all holes unplayed will be DNF and the points for those holes will automatically be forfeit to the opposing player. All holes played are still eligible to earn points. Because a full 9 holes was not completed this round will not be calculated into a handicap.
***NOTICE*** Any players coming early for practice can play the opposite 9 from the current day's schedule. If it is discovered that a team has practiced on the currently scheduled 9 their round, they are more than welcome to against their opponents but will not be eligible to earn points for the round.
Course rules apply except: Lift, clean & place everywhere EXCEPT IN BUNKERS. On 12, ball in roped off area can be moved to the cut out near the cart path, no penalty. Out of bounds is penalty with stroke and distance on line of flight. A ball hit in Macoby Creek on 3 can be moved to anywhere IN THE CREEK to play it. If the ball is unplayable, move it back on line of flight with 1 penalty stroke. New for 2024 if a ball flys into the driving range on hole 6, take the 3 minutes to find your ball. After 3 minutes if you have not found your ball, use your best judgement for line of flight where it entered the driving range and drop with NO PENALTY.
Players 62 years of age or older can play from the Gold tees. You must turn 62 BEFORE the season starts.
